About

What is this site?

This site is my evidence that I was here, I had thoughts, and some of them may have been useful to myself or others.

Beyond that, this is a website dedicated to still believing in what the internet had promised back in the days when we still spelled it with a capital I.

The world is changing faster than ever with the rise of AI--specifically generative AI like ChatGPT and Claude, but in the broader sense that includes machine learning and deep learning in general, as well. While I'm not saying that's necessarily something to embrace, I don't think it's something we can really avoid, either. So, in the context of that changing world, this website is my attempt to collect and share the information I gather about the terrain. Some of it is going to be more lifehack; some of it is going to be more procedural. If I'm on my game, some of it will be deep in the weeds of math and theory.

Who is it for?

This site is for anyone who wants to understand my work (hi, recruiters).

It's also for people trying to get by in a world that is unrecognizable, and looking for little nuggets of how to use the new one to their advantage. Former gifted kid burnouts, I'm looking at you. I am you.

Working principle

Building containers with AI; keeping the content human-generated.

How to read the site

Most posts can be read in different modes, depending on what you’re looking for.

  • Lifestyle / Narrative — what it felt like, what changed, and what stuck (or didn’t).
  • Procedural / Reproducible — steps, prompts, constraints, and failure modes.
  • Paper / Formal — methods, results, limitations, and references.

Not every post has all three. That’s intentional.

What this is not

  • Not a productivity flex
  • Not a startup blog
  • Not optimized for social media or growth metrics
  • Not written by AI end-to-end

About me

My name is Nikki.

Up until 2020, I was a mechanical engineer and energy manager for a large aerospace company.

I was severely burned out and experiencing significant distress from extreme isolation during the pandemic.

I got my Masters in Computer Science in 2023.

I've been doing my own software engineering projects ever since, and used ChatGPT to overcome a lot of the burnout symptoms I was experiencing.

I want to share what I build and what I learned. I also like writing.

Updates and maintenance

This site is updated irregularly. Experiments end, change, or fail. Older posts may be revised when my thinking changes.

Why “More Than Just Vibes”?

Easy: this blog-shaped object is about more than just vibecoding. In general, my philosophy is that AI should improve life in meatspace (even when mediated through digital toosl).
